Fall Off (the wagon) Fridays….”PLT”
Ingredients
  • 2-4Pieces Sliced Italian Bread
  • 6-8Slices Pancetta
  • 4-5Leaves BasilBasil has so many beneficial properties, immune booster, blood vessel protector, antioxidants, etc.
  • 1/2Cup Creamy Havarti Cheese
  • 2-4Tablespoons Olive Oil/Pam Olive Oil SprayOlive oil helps decrease the total cholesterol and “bad” LDL cholesterol levels
  • 1Cup ArugulaArugula is a cruciferous vegetable. Many studies suggest consuming of plant foods like arugula may decrease your risk of heart disease
  • 1Medium TomatoTomatoes- studies have discovered that high levels of lycopene in the blood are associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease in both men and women.
Instructions
Cooking Pancetta
  1. First, put in a nonstick pan over a medium to low heat and cook the pancetta 2 minutes on each side, then set aside.
Toasting the Bread
  1. First, spray a cookie sheet with Pam.
  2. Then, put olive oil on both sides of the bread with a basting brush.
  3. Then broil for 30-60 seconds on each side, until toasted, BUT watching constantly!!!
Set the oven to 350
  1. First of all, the oven will be very hot, add the Havarti cheese to each piece of bread and bake immediately.
  2. Next, set the timer for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted.
Putting together you PLT
  1. First, take your toast with the melted cheese and put on a plate. Then, add your basil leaves on top of the cheese.
  2. Next, add your pancetta.
  3. Then, add your arugula.
  4. Finally, add your tomato then top with another piece of toast or eat open-faced sandwich…..Enjoy!!!
