This Roasted Root Dandelion Tea is inspired from my friend who introduced it to me years ago. The basic detox is from Jillian Michaels’s recipe and I decided to change it up adding heart healthy benefits and it tastes better than the old recipe. I added basil because of the profound health benefits of eating basil and the fresh cranberries. Then, my close friend, who is also my workout partner, close eye editor, healthy eating consultant who also fights high cholesterol, and confidant, Brandie C., recommended that I add grated ginger due to the immense health purposes it has in fighting cholesterol. Drink up friends for 5-7 days and be sure to read the links I have attached in my recipe notes to find all the benefits of the below ingredients in the Roasted Dandelion Root Health Boosting Tea….Happy New Year All!!!
B.C's Roasted Dandelion Root Health Boosting Tea...
Ingredients
- 1 Roasted Dandelion Root Tea Bag Https://draxe.com/dandelion-tea/.
- 64 Ounces Water
- 5 Fresh Cranberries or Tablespoon Pure Cranberry Lakewood, Organic Cranberry Juice, Fresh Pressed. You can get it at a local health food store.
- 1/2 Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice It helps keep your heart healthy. The potassium contained in lemons helps strengthen your heart and triggers it to squeeze and circulate blood throughout your body. At the same time, the vitamin C it contains helps relax blood vessels, making it easier for blood to circulate through them.
- 2-3 Fresh Basil Leaves https://food.ndtv.com/food-drinks/9-incredible-benefits-of-basil-leaves-you-may-not-have-known-1834742
- 1/2 Teaspoon Freshly Grated Ginger inger is helpful in reducing blood pressure, but it’s also beneficial for cholesterol levels. Ginger has been found to reduce cholesterol levels—specifically reducing low-density lipoproteins (LDL). According to the American Heart Association, “LDL cholesterol is called ’bad’ cholesterol. Think of it as less desirable or even lousy cholesterol, because it contributes to fatty buildups in arteries.” That fatty buildup is known as atherosclerosis and it, it increases the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Instructions
- First add 32 ounces of water and fresh cranberries to your tea pot or regular pot and boil. (if you are using the cranberry juice, add it after the lemon juice.) Then, steep your tea bag for 3-5 minutes.
- Then, add your pot of tea to a pitcher and add an additional 32 ounces of cold water.
- Next add your lemon juice, cranberry juice (if applicable) grated ginger, and basil leaves and its ready to drink. I prefer it cold so will add ice cubes and refrigerate the rest.
- If you can, drink it all in one day and if not, at least consume half, which is only 4 cups. Repeat the recipe for the next 5-7 days as it is easy and quick to make. I hope you all have a Healthy and Happy New Year....Cheers to 2019!!!
