1/2Fresh Squeezed Lemon JuiceIt helps keep your heart healthy. The potassium contained in lemons helps strengthen your heart and triggers it to squeeze and circulate blood throughout your body. At the same time, the vitamin C it contains helps relax blood vessels, making it easier for blood to circulate through them.
1/2TeaspoonFreshly Grated Gingeringer is helpful in reducing blood pressure, but it’s also beneficial for cholesterol levels. Ginger has been found to reduce cholesterol levels—specifically reducing low-density lipoproteins (LDL). According to the American Heart Association, “LDL cholesterol is called ’bad’ cholesterol. Think of it as less desirable or even lousy cholesterol, because it contributes to fatty buildups in arteries.” That fatty buildup is known as atherosclerosis and it, it increases the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Instructions
First add 32 ounces of water and fresh cranberries to your tea pot or regular pot and boil. (if you are using the cranberry juice, add it after the lemon juice.) Then, steep your tea bag for 3-5 minutes.
Then, add your pot of tea to a pitcher and add an additional 32 ounces of cold water.
Next add your lemon juice, cranberry juice (if applicable) grated ginger, and basil leaves and its ready to drink. I prefer it cold so will add ice cubes and refrigerate the rest.
If you can, drink it all in one day and if not, at least consume half, which is only 4 cups. Repeat the recipe for the next 5-7 days as it is easy and quick to make. I hope you all have a Healthy and Happy New Year….Cheers to 2019!!!
