Honey Oats & Peanut Butter Chocolate Bites

Ingredients

  • 2 Ripe Ripe Plantains or Bananas The fiber in plantains helps lower your cholesterol, which in turn keeps your heart functioning at its best.
  • 1 Cup Quaker Oats Oats and oatmeal have many health benefits. These include weight loss, lower blood sugar levels and a reduced risk of heart disease.
  • 1/4-1/2 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips Studies show that people who eat dark chocolate have healthier cardiovascular systems, including better blood circulation, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol level.
  • 1 Tablespoon PB2 PB2 powdered peanut butter is a low-calorie, low-fat alternative to traditional peanut butter.
  • 1 Teaspoon Flaxseed Meal Flax's primary healthy benefit is due to the omega-3 essential fatty acids, "good" fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects.
  • 1 Teaspoon Organic Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tablespoon Organic Local Honey Several studies show that honey may improve your cholesterol levels. It reduces total and “bad” LDL cholesterol while significantly raising “good” HDL cholesterol.
  • Sprinkle Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  1. First, preheat the oven to 350. Next, take your ripe plantains or bananas and add to a bowl and smash with a potato smasher or fork.
  2. Next, add raw oats, PB2, honey, flaxseed meal, vanilla, and chocolate chips and blend with a hand blender.
  3. Lastly, spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray, roll balls into 1 inch diameter round (the best you can) and bake 20 minutes or until chocolates are melted.
  4. Finally, enjoy as a pre or post workout delight or for an after school treat or even with your coffee...Enjoy!!!
