Fall Off (the wagon) Fridays for Flatbread Pizza!! Greek or Italian Style?? I Love Them Both!!! I grew up in a suburb of Chicago and a large part of the population was Greek AND Italian. European, YES! Different, YES! BUT a lot of  commonalities i.e. FOOD, FAMILY, FRIENDS, & PRESERVING their CULTURE! This Fall Off (the wagon) Friday is dedicated to the Beauty AND Uniqueness Of Both GREEK & ITALIAN Culture AND especially to my three nieces, Tina, Nicole, AND Marissa who are the combination of  both, Beautiful Inside and Out….Enjoy!!!

Greek Flatbread/Naan Fall Off (the wagon) Fridays
Italian Flatbread/Naan Fall Off (the wagon) Fridays
  • 1 Flatbreads/Naan Bread
  • 1 Tablespoon Felippo Berio Olive Oil Olive oil, super healthy for your heart
  • 1 Green Onion Onion is high in vitamins and minerals and antioxidants and some benefits may include reducing the risk of heart disease.
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, pressed or diced small Garlic offers a variety of benefits, from cardiovascular protection, and lowering LDL levels along with triglycerides and lowering blood pressure.
  • 1/2 Medium-Large Tomato Tomatoes have two key nutrients that have a big impact on heart health: lycopene and potassium. Some research shows that lycopene may lower LDL, or “bad” cholesterol.
  • 2-3 Fresh Basil Leaves Basil leaves have so many beneficial properties. They are immune boosters, blood vessel protectors, antioxidents, etc.
  • 1-2 Pieces Bocconcini/Fresh Mozzarella Bocconcinit's is not as high in fat so the texture isn't creamy. Bocconcini (which means “little mouthfuls” in Italian) are small, round balls of young mozzarella cheese that are usually made from cow's milk.
  • 1/4 Shaved Parmesan cheese
  • Dash Dried Oregano or Fresh Oregano treats inflammation in the body.
  • Dash Sea Salt
  • Dash Fresh or Dried Parsley Parsely is very high in Vitamin B, which provides folate which is needed to maintain healthy heart.

Instructions
Greek Flatbread/Naan
  1. First, preheat the oven to 350.
  2. Next, spread the carrot hummus over the flatbread/naan bread.
  3. Then, add the tomatoes, kalamata olives, pressed garlic, sliced green onion, crumbled feta, then pepperonccini.
  4. Lastly, top with olive oil and salt and pepper, bake for 3-5 minutes, broiling for the last 1-2 minutes.
Italian Flatbread/Naan
  1. First, preheat the oven to 350.
  2. Next,spread the olive oil all over the flatbread/naan bread, then add the sliced tomatoes, pressed garlic, sliced green onion, fresh mozzarella, basil, oregano, salt, pepper.
  3. Bake for 7 minutes and broil for 1-2 additional minutes.....serve....Enjoy!!!
