Instructions
Prepping the Artichokes
First, remove the thorns at the top of the artichoke by slicing them off then cut the stem at the bottom.
Next, rinse the artichoke and open the petals by banging the artichoke down on a cutting board a couple times, petal side down.
Then, add the chopped garlic, Italian bread crumbs, Italian grated cheese, flaxseed meal, and olive oil to a bowl and mix.
Add, water slowly just to make the stuffing slightly damp. You may not use the whole amount.
Then make sure the leaves are open and start sprinkling the stuffing into the artichoke either by hand or with a small spoon, making sure that most leaves are stuffed.
Steaming Artichokes
Add, water to a pot with a steaming insert. Add about 2 inches of water to the bottom of a medium to large pot.
Next, place your artichokes in and cook over a low heat for 2-2.5 hours. After 1.5 hours, you may want to add 1/4-1/2 cup more of water depending on how long you want to cook them.
Finally, turn off and let them cool down for 15-20 minutes and serve….Enjoy!!!
